BRAND REFRESH
I started at First Alert just in time to assist in the massive 2017 rebranding initiative’s finalization and roll-out. I was integral in producing over one hundred SKUs, making sure they adhered to the new brand guidelines. During this time, I also conceptualized, designed, and produced numerous in-store pieces, advertising campaigns (web and print), and various collateral pieces.
In 2020 on the verge of a new UL standard, I once again played a crucial role in updating packaging and products. Based on organic consumer feedback and research, I helped make the packaging more consumer-friendly. This refresh involved reducing unnecessary elements and keeping only those creating the essence of the brand. I addressed several readability issues, focused on top-most product features, and made a visual hierarchy between products. In addition to the packaging updates, I also evaluated and redesigned the front (cliché) and back (nameplate) graphics to be more organized and accessible for the consumer. I created a graphic style guide to be used by our mechanical engineers and production operators in Aurora and Juarez.
